Once upon a time a trend started in snowboarding where people wore rather large tall tees that hung out the bottom of their jackets. It was then that Priscilla Levac made it her goal to create a base layer that not only flattered a woman’s body, but also provided extra waterproof inches at the bottom. And so with the help of her mother, CILLA was born, bringing freshness and style to the traditionally unflattering base layers.
Based out in Canada, CILLA has gone from strength to strength, with their comfy gear able to be worn everywhere from up the hill, to the gym, yoga or just chilling. The designs are seriously good looking and eco-friendly, it would be a huge waste if they were locked under all your snowboarding kit!
Founder and owner Priscilla Levac says ” We are now expanding and are no longer calling ourselves a first layer company but an Active Lifestyle Brand. More and more women are getting active today and there’s a huge shift of consciousness happening. Feeling healthy and connected is becoming people’s priority. My biggest motivation with CILLA is to encourage women to go out there, get movin’ and feel alive… while looking great of course! I have a very active lifestyle, I mountain bike, hike, and I do Yoga besides snowboarding. In my CILLA I can go from one to the next while looking like myself, without having to change to my normal clothes.”
The CILLA team features some top female snowboarders, Hana Beaman, Marie-France Roy, Erin Comstock and Tara Dakides. Currently CILLA isn’t available in the UK, although we have our fingers and toes crossed in the hope that it doesn’t take too long!
There is only a few days left till their A/W 2010 collections hit stores, including those lovely online shops!
