Last weekend saw girls and their skateboards traveling across the country for the first leg of the 2011 UK Ladies Skateboard Series.  The Phoenix Night was held at the Central Skatepark in Manchester on Saturday 24th September 2011, and some of the UKs top female skateboarders turned up to compete and throw down their best tricks.

Like last year, competitors first took turns in pairs, then the top six girls went through to the final and had two two minute runs each. Our own Stef Nurding was in attendance and managed to qualify for the finals – Jyeahhh!  From what we have heard the standard of riding was fantastic, with the whole event showing just how much the UK girls skate scene has progressed in the last few years.
