This year has seen many competitions suffer due to cuts in funding and sponsorship, and The Queen Of Queens Womens Surfing Competition, the final date on the UK Pro Surf diary was about to be the latest to be lost. Thankfully not a minute too soon, the wonderful Nalu Beads has stepped up and saved the day!
The Nalu Bead’s Queen of Queens Womens Surf Contest will run this weekend at Fistral Beach, crowning the overall Ladies champion for 2011. Nalu Beads are said to be stoked to be able to get involved and support Women’s Surfing in this country. Having been involved with the British event recently, and seeing the girls paddling out in such big waves with commitment and bravery, they know just how important the girls who compete are as role models and they want to be able encourage that.
The competition will be running this weekend with the UKPSA office dealing with the entries. And don’t forget the party afterwards – The UK Pro Surf Awards are being held on Sunday evening at the Esplanade Hotel. Tickets are £25 and are available from the office on 01637854854! Extra Bon!
