Snowboard | Halfpipe Cancelled At O’Neill Evolution

O'Neill Evolution 2012

We have just heard from the organisers of the O’Neill Evolution set to take place in Davos, Switzerland from the 2nd to 7th January 2012, that they have decided to cancel the Halfpipe competition due to lack of snow.  The 6Star BigAir competition however will still be welcoming the world’s best freestyle snowboarders back to the Jakobshorn.

This years competition will see more British ladies than ever before taking part, and with the majority of them entering the Big Air we will still have the chance to witness some great stunting from our home grown gals.  With three full days of practice available to riders and shapers alike, you can bet your bottom dollar it’s going to go off once the contest gets underway.

Rider numbers in Round 1 have increased from 50 to 75 and an extra round has been thrown in for good measure, the O’Neill Evolution 2012 will offer the freestyle superstars of tomorrow a golden opportunity to make a name for themselves on the big stage. The not-so-small matter of $40,000 and $20,000 winner cheques for the men and women respectively is a guarantee, if ever it was needed, that the world’s best riders won’t be holding anything back during the nighttime finals.
