Did you have a good summer and get much shred time in?

Helen - Hiya! Yeah summer was fun. I went to the South of France to get work on a private yacht and earn some dolla for winter. It was pretty hardcore but a really good experience. Sadly this meant I hardly got to shred at all. I really missed summer shred in the domes!

Soph - While Helen was in the south of France I was in Aberdeen. Oil capital of Europe…..really that’s all there is to the city. I managed to spend a lot of time in Manchester with my good mates, sending it at the bar, and generally having a marvelous time. Also managed to fit in quite a few comps, Burton Hi5 at 3 stops,DC Jet and Westbeach Snowflex series.

You spent some time in Morzine, France at the beginning of the Season, how was that? Have you got the chance to do any comps yet?

Helen – Yeh it was siiick! Met the best people there. Had such a laugh but my health perhaps suffered slightly. It was a good warm up for Breck and there was a load of powder. Funny funny times with Soph. Got a few park days in too, including a comp called Burton AM Chappelle which was real fun. You got 2 rail runs and two kicker runs. Was stoked to come first.

Soph – I lived with the most amazing people in morzine. Shout out to the Roofbox.tv crew. There was 14 of us in a 8 person house. But the more the merrier, it was great. After the outrage of new year and the 2 day hangover, I got a week of riding powder and I think I may have wee’ed my pants with laughter, I had the best time. We were lucky enough to get a week of park after that and because it was fast laps I learnt quite a few new stock tricks that were needed in the bag.

So your both out in Breckenridge at the moment, how’s it going?

Helen – Jeezo. It’s really amazing here. I may or may not have wet my knickers the first day in Park Lane. Good good times!

Soph – I tell you running for a bus at 3100m is the WORST. Also hangovers at this altitude are TERRIBLE. I’ve spent more time with my head down the toilet than i have shredding……. don’t tell anyone.

We hear that Helen is injured, what happened there?

Helen – Dull one. I have had problems with my elbow since I dislocated it 2 summers ago and when I was in Morzine I caught my arm under a rail and I knew I’d damaged it again. I went to the hospital and the French doctors told me I had broken my elbow and put me in an OUTRAGEOUS cast! (see photo). Luckily when I went home I got it checked out again and they said it wasn’t broken but I had permanent ligament damage from previous injury and new damage from the latest incident! It was feeling pretty good but after a few days of being here I sat down at the top of the park to wait for mates and when I put my hand down my elbow just popped right out. Gutter. Im back riding but gotta be real careful not to fall on it cause it’s still super weak.

What are you plans for the rest of the season?

Helen – Stay here till April 24th and get as much shred in as possible! Then of course the Boardtest for an apres season knees up and shred. There is also talk of a Ride team trip but nothing is organised yet. That would be sick.

Soph – I’m in Breck until the 24th Feb. Then going on a road trip. Coming on the adventure is your very own Katie Blundell and her hubby Rich Jonas and Will Rad. We are heading up to Utah to shred some street, Park City and Brighton for a week. Then were are heading down to Tahoe for 5weeks joining the Grindhouse crew and Orla doorlin. Its gonna be siick. Then I fly back to London and fly straight out to Mayrhofen for snowbombing for my 21st and to party hard with you guys, lap up the sun and have a summer shred!! Great end to the season.

Any events or trips that you are really looking forward too?

Helen – I’m just really excited about the whole season. I’ve wanted to come to the states for years but this is the first time I could afford it. Hopefully I’ll be able to do the Volcom Peanut Butter Rail Jam when it comes over this way. The one I did in Morzine last year was one of the best days.

Soph – The whole Road trip. And the main event at the very end of season which I do believe is called the Boardtest. The parties are epic but mainly just shredding and hanging out with all our mates.

When can we find you ladies back in Europe?

Helen – I’ll be back for the Boardtest which I’m sure will go off as always!

Soph – Fly back to Europe on the 8th. See you in the Hof on the 9th. Beer in hand ladies.
